Meet the editor!

Posted by Sara Sheriff on 2021-01-20

Hello! My name is Sara Sheriff, and I am the new Student Journal Editor. I hold a Bachelor of Laws in Law and Human Rights and I am currently completing a Master's degree in Human Rights and Cultural Diversity. Both of my degrees are from the University of Essex. I am particularly interested in culture, religion, and psychosocial perspectives on human rights. I also really like cats.

As I have been a student at the University of Essex for five years now, I am very excited to have a role in shaping student experience. The Essex Student Journal is a fantastic platform for the creative development of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, providing them with the invaluable opportunity to get to know the publishing world.

My role in the journal is to coordinate an authentic publishing experience for students. This involves overseeing the selection and review process of manuscripts all the way through to publication. I also have a role in the promotion of the journal, including on social media. If you want to check out the exciting content that is posted, be sure to follow the Essex Student Journal using the links provided below! We are avid users of GIFs here at the journal.

And I have great news! The Essex Student Journal is currently looking for papers! If you are a current undergraduate or postgraduate student at Essex and you have an essay, research paper, or case study that you would like to be published, this is a call to you.

The Essex Student Journal is open for submission with no deadline; submissions are published online when they are ready. All submissions will be subject to peer review to decide whether they are suitable for the journal.

For more information regarding the submissions process, including guidelines for submitting, click here. If you have any enquiries, please feel free to email the journal at journal@essex.ac.uk

I look forward to reading your submissions!
