Publication Fees

This journal is a Diamond Open Access journal, which means there are no Article Publishing Charges and no paywalls. 

Publication Cycle

This journal opens for submissions in the Spring and Summer terms, and closes over the Summer break and Autumn term. Each volume corresponds with the academic year, running from October - September. Special issues may be published as and when relevant content arises. All publications of the Essex Student Journal are indexed within Google Scholar.

Peer review

All content published with the Essex Student Journal, excluding editorials and news stories, is peer reviewed. All peer review is completed by postgraduate research students at the University of Essex. Guidance and further information for peer reviewers is available online.
